Andela Electro Weeder

Chemical-free, electric weed control for arable farming

Besides the Andela Robot Weeder that controls weeds in the row, Andela Techniek & Innovatie also has a solution for controlling weeds between the rows: the Andela Electro Weeder.

With the Electro Weeder, high-voltage sliding contacts glide over the weeds, heating the weeds, stopping the sap flow and killing the weeds immediately. The crop is protected by plastic plates. Thanks to the use of electricity, weeds are better controlled and the soil remains undisturbed, so that no seedbed is created for new weeds.

Features:

  • Electricity based technology
  • Combats root weeds to the core
  • Soil remains undisturbed, no seedbed for new weeds
  • Minimal chance of weed regrowth
  • Does not pile up
  • Works on hard crusts
  • No damage to crop root system
  • Applicable in flat field, bed and ridge cultivation
  • Can be used with drip irrigation
  • Required tractor power between 80 and 200 hp, depending on working width, soil type, humidity, soil structure and weed density
  • Driving speed 2 to 6 km/h, depending on weed density
  • Chemical free
  • Camera steering optional
  • RTK GPS optional
